In Japan, the koi carp swims upstream against the current: it symbolises perseverance, courage and success. It appears in gardens, prints, kimonos and tableware.
Our koi selection brings together a line of Mino porcelain tableware, made around Toki and Tajimi (Gifu Prefecture), where carp swim in indigo blue on a white background: bowls, plates, sushi plates, small dishes, salad bowls, yunomi and a cup with handle, sold individually or in matching sets. Porcelain is dishwasher and microwave safe.
The collection also includes a cotton koi yukata, made in Kyoto and delivered with its belt. Japanese koi tableware or a carp-themed gift: a way to set a matching table around a single motif.
