Description
A white dish with high sides, circled with blue stripes.
Its raised sides are decorated with vertical indigo blue stripes. This pattern, tokusa, is inspired by the straight, segmented stems of horsetail, an emblematic plant of Japanese gardens: it is a classic decoration of Japanese tableware.
The inside stays white and smooth, and a fine brown line edges the rim. At 20.9 cm long, 12 cm wide and 3 cm high, its high sides hold sauces and cooking juices.
It comes from the Toki-Tajimi region, Gifu Prefecture, home of Mino ceramics.
For grilled fish, vegetables or a gratin. Made in Japan.
