Description
Two salad bowls with petal-cut rims, each with its own garden.
The first opens onto a wide band of soft yellow, on which blue many-petalled flowers and dark leaves stand out; the white exterior repeats a few flowers. The second is white inside, scattered with medallions: one filled with seigaiha waves, another with crosshatching, and small five-petalled flowers all around. Blue sprigs run over the outside.
Seigaiha, "waves of the blue ocean", is a Japanese pattern of overlapping arcs. It evokes the calm sea and, by extension, peace and continuity.
The walls are gently fluted, with ribs that follow the scalloped rim. This flower shape gives the bowls a soft, almost precious silhouette.
They are the same size, 20.5 cm in diameter and 6.5 cm high, but have two decorations: they can be served together or separately.
For a salad, vegetables, noodles or a dessert to share. Made in Japan.
