Japanese Rice Bowl, Dark Green with Cherry Blossom

A very dark green rice bowl, where fine branches of cherry blossom bloom inside.

The deep green glaze, speckled and almost black, covers the outside and gives the bowl an understated look. Inside, fine branches in golden brown tones appear, bearing white cherry blossoms with pale pink hearts.

The cherry blossom, sakura, is the emblem of spring in Japan. Every year its brief and eagerly awaited flowering is celebrated with hanami, the tradition of gathering under the trees in bloom. Its fleeting beauty invites us to savour the present moment.

At 13 cm in diameter and 6 cm high, this bowl suits rice, miso soup, side dishes or a dessert.

It belongs to the shop’s dark green sakura collection and completes the plates and small dishes in the same decoration.
