Description
Two large ramen bowls, in three designs.
Shinryoku green: a deep green glaze speckled with brown, in woodland tones. Their name evokes shinryoku, the bright green of young leaves at the start of summer, a colour much loved in Japan.
Tokusa blue lines: white porcelain decorated with vertical blue lines drawn with a brush. The tokusa pattern is inspired by the straight stems of horsetail, and the dami style refers to this brush filling, with a slightly irregular finish.
Shiro cream white: a finely speckled cream white. Shiro means "white"; the name evokes the light slip used to coat the piece, hence its soft, slightly textured finish.
Their conical shape, wide at the top, leaves room for noodles, broth and toppings. At 19 cm in diameter and 9.3 cm high, these are true ramen bowls.
They come from the Toki-Tajimi region, Gifu Prefecture, home of Mino ceramics.
For ramen, udon or soba. Made in Japan.
