Japanese Plates, Dark Green with Cherry Blossom – Set of 5

Five plates with a very dark green background, crossed by branches of cherry blossom.

The background, a deep green that verges on black, sets off fine branches in golden brown. They carry white cherry blossoms with pale pink hearts, a few buds and small leaves. The decoration stays airy and delicate, leaving plenty of space for the dark background.

The cherry blossom, sakura, is the emblem of spring in Japan. Every year its flowering is celebrated with hanami, the tradition of gathering under the trees in bloom. Its fleeting beauty is also a reminder to savour the present moment.

At 19.3 cm in diameter, these plates suit starters, sushi, desserts or small dishes to share. The dark background shows off light and colourful food.

They are part of the shop’s dark green sakura collection, with bowls, small dishes and platters in the same decoration, all in porcelain.
