Description
A low, handleless teacup, in seven colours.
Its glaze is covered with fine crackles. They appear as the glaze cools and form a delicate network, different on each cup. The foot, left unglazed, keeps the colour of the clay.
Celadon blue: a soft blue-green. Celadon, a glaze much loved in Japan, owes its shades to the iron it contains.
Celadon green: a soft green, from the same family of glazes.
Dark green: a deep, glossy green, reminiscent of the moss in temple gardens.
Pink: a powdery pink, reminiscent of cherry blossoms.
Dark blue: an ultramarine blue, close to Japanese indigo.
White: a very soft grey white, which brings out the colour of the tea.
Yellow: a soft, luminous lime yellow.
Like Japanese teacups, it is held with both hands.
For green tea, hojicha or herbal tea. Made in Japan.
