Japanese brush-painted large bowls – Set of 2

Two large flared bowls where you can see the gesture of the brush, in two decorations.

Blue and brown dots: on cream ceramic, large blue and brown dots are brushed on the inside. This spontaneous, generous decoration recalls Japanese folk tableware, where the decorator's gesture remains visible. The outside is circled with a wide blue band.

White circles: the deep blue inside is covered with brush-painted white circles. The irregularity of each circle gives the decoration a spontaneous charm. The outside is a lighter blue.

The shape is wide and flared, on a small foot. At 25.5 cm in diameter and 7.5 cm high, these are very large bowls, to place at the centre of the table.

They come from the Toki-Tajimi region, Gifu Prefecture, home of Mino ceramics.

For salads, noodles, ramen or sharing dishes. Made in Japan.
