Description
Four tall cups with the asanoha pattern, each in its own colour, presented in a black gift box.
Red, blue, green and purple: each cup carries the same network of six-pointed stars, in a different colour. The base, left as raw clay, adds a warm, natural touch.
Asanoha, literally “hemp leaf”, is a traditional Japanese pattern made of interlocking six-pointed stars. As hemp grows straight and fast, the pattern is associated with growth and good health; it was once found on children’s clothing.
Without handles, as Japanese tradition has it, they are held in both hands. At 5 cm in diameter and 8 cm high, they hold green tea, herbal tea or sake.
The gift box makes them a lovely gift idea, ready to give, and everyone can recognise their cup by its colour.
