Japanese Rice Bowls, Pastel Green and White – Set of 4

Four footed rice bowls in pastel tones, with a raw clay border.

Two bowls are a soft green, two a creamy white, with light horizontal grooves under the glaze that catch the light.

An unglazed, sand-coloured band highlights the rim and contrasts with the softness of the colours. This blend of smooth and raw gives the set a natural, soothing character.

Their flared shape on a foot, 12.9 cm in diameter and 7 cm high, is that of the traditional Japanese rice bowl, the chawan, which is easy to hold in one hand during the meal.

They suit rice, miso soup, side dishes or a dessert, and form a range with the set of tall pastel bowls in the same palette.
