Japanese Sake Set, Blue Drips

A flask and two small white cups, crossed by blue and brown drips.

On a slightly speckled white background, fine blue and brown drips run down from the rim of the flask and the cups. The simple, spontaneous decoration gives the set plenty of character.

The flask, the tokkuri, has a tall shape with slightly pinched sides that offer a good grip. In Japan, sake is served from a tokkuri and drunk from small cups, the ochoko.

The flask measures 7 cm in diameter and 15.3 cm in height, and the cups 5.5 cm in diameter and 4.4 cm in height. The set suits hot or cold sake, as well as shochu or a digestif.

Presented in its box, it makes a lovely gift for sake lovers.
