Description
A small chopstick rest with the soft shape of a polished pebble, to keep chopsticks clean between bites.
In Japan, the hashioki is as much a part of the table as the bowl or the plate. Placed next to the place setting, it holds the chopsticks during the meal so they do not touch the table. It also adds elegance to a set table.
Two models are available, sold separately. The black one, with its deep, glossy glaze, is understated and goes with any tableware. The brown and green one combines a rust brown glaze with a green drip, in natural tones of earth and moss; the shades vary slightly from piece to piece.
At 4.2 cm long, it stays discreet and finds its place beside every plate, for a Japanese meal as well as an everyday table.
