Description
Small dishes shaped like a maple leaf, with raised veins.
Green maple: an open maple leaf with a deep, glossy green glaze.
Charcoal grey maple: the same maple leaf with a charcoal grey glaze and bluish highlights. Its dark, mineral shade gives it a sober, contemporary look.
Red maple: a tiny maple leaf with a bright orange red glaze.
In Japan, the maple, momiji, evokes the seasons: green in spring and summer, blazing red in autumn, when people gather to admire the foliage, a custom called momijigari.
They come from the Toki-Tajimi region, Gifu Prefecture, home of Mino ceramics.
For soy sauce, wasabi or ginger, or as chopstick rests. Made in Japan.
