Description
A salad bowl striped with blue, with great regularity.
The whole surface is covered with fine indigo lines made of short, tight strokes set one under another. Up close, you can see each stroke; from a distance, the lines form a regular, almost textile weave. A black rim rings the bowl.
This tokusa pattern is inspired by the straight, segmented stems of horsetail, a plant emblematic of Japanese gardens. The short strokes recall the segments of its stems.
The shape is wide, with almost straight sides, on a small white foot. At 21.8 cm in diameter and 8 cm high, it holds a dish for several people.
The decoration continues inside, so the empty bowl keeps all its graphic rhythm.
For salads, cold noodles or sharing dishes. Made in Japan.
