Description
A white matcha bowl whose rim is tinged with blue, presented in its black gift box.
Towards the top, the creamy white glaze fills with blue-grey runs that flow down from the rim, highlighted by a brown line. The effect recalls the foam of a wave.
The chawan is the bowl used in Japan to prepare and drink matcha, a powdered green tea whisked in hot water with a bamboo whisk, the chasen, until a fine froth forms.
At 12 cm in diameter and 7.5 cm high, its straight, deep shape leaves room for the whisk to beat the tea. It also suits a matcha latte or a hot drink.
Presented in a black gift box, it makes a lovely gift for lovers of Japanese tea.
